Family Support Service
An informal service funded by the Cheshire West and Cheshire Council, individual schools and Education Improvement Partnerships to support families and children in Northwich, Winsford, Frodsham, Helsby and the Broxton area of Chester.
What's On Offer?
We focus on early intervention, helping parents to develop the necessary coping skills and helping them to access a broad range of services. If our staff can't help, then they will put families in touch with somebody who can and arrange introductions if needed.
A team of Family Link Workers working in schools to help improve attendance and achievement schools and a Family Support Manager helping to coordinate and develop new services to support the local community.
Parenting
As funding has been available we have been able to offer the well known Webster Stratton “Incredible Years” parenting course to groups of parents
Learning New Skills
In conjunction with the New Vic, The Zone and The Junction and our own Adult and Community Learning project, families are encouraged to learn new skills which can be informal or nationally accredited programmes.
Families can also access opportunities for volunteering - the chance to acquire training, new skills and improve your employment prospects, whilst helping your community.
