A New Deal whatever your age!

Voluntary Action Vale Royal have been running the voluntary option of New Deal
since 1998. More recently we have been able to offer a range of New Deal
programmes in Vale Royal and Warrington.

New Deal is a JobcentrePlus programme which offers those who have been
unemployed for a while the opportunity to join a programme of job search,
practical work experience and updating skills and qualifications.

Voluntary Action Vale Royal has a high success rate for getting people into jobs
and for helping them secure new qualifications at our learning centres. In 2006
we achieved the Matrix quality mark – this is what the assessor said
‘A number of clients stated that the support and guidance that they had received
from the VAVR staff had made a significant difference to them personally, not only
in their potential for future training or employment but also as part of their day to
day life.’- matrix assessor

The primary focus of New Deal is to assist our trainees in finding employment;
we do this in a variety of ways including using the Internet, the local job papers
and via local Employment Agencies.

We also encourage our trainees to partake in workshops that provide them with
skills that not only assist them in gaining employment, but also to maintain it.
Our workshops cover topics such as body language, interview techniques and
workplace etiquette.
